General Accountability
Reporting directly to the Director, HR, the Training Specialist is responsible for the training of all software applications within the firm.  The incumbent also works closely with and takes direction from the Director, IT to support and recommend changes to existing systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, design and implement training programs for all firm personnel, in consultation with Director, HR, Director, IT and other functional leaders.
  • Anticipate and determine the training needs for effective utilization of all software applications
  • Assist the Help Desk in troubleshooting high level issues that require expert level understanding of various applications.
  • Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations regarding new legal industry applications.
  • Facilitates new hire training and ongoing software skills training to all employees.
  • Develops and maintains procedures and training aides (e.g. manuals, video tutorials, etc.).
  • Participates in various projects as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Expert level experience working with Microsoft Office Suite of applications in a professional services environment.
  • Expert level experience working with supplementary applications commonly used in a law office environment.
  • Understanding of a wide range of administrative and lawyer tasks and workflow within a legal environment
  • Proven presentation skills and experience in developing and facilitating software training.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and coaching ability.
  • Desire to collaborate with varying departments to develop professional development curriculum and participate in training initiatives.
  • Ability to motivate and communicate to large or small groups.
  • Upbeat and positive outlook and superior interpersonal skills.
  • Related post-secondary degree or diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
  • Self-motivated with ability to perform duties under minimal supervision.
