Paralegal – Insurance, Personal Injury, and Product Liability

Your role

We are looking for a motivated, organized, and team-oriented Paralegal to join our busy and fast-paced litigation department.  The ideal candidate will have some experience working with a broad variety of litigation matters including insurance, personal injury (including motor vehicle liability), construction, products liability and commercial litigation claims.  A positive and can-do attitude is a must.

A Day In The Life

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing and overseeing a high volume of complex files
• Reviewing and responding to high volumes of communications (emails) on files
• Document assembly and management
• Drafting pleadings and motion materials
• Summarizing documents, medical records and expert reports
• Preparing materials for expert reports
• Investigations and Interviewing clients and witnesses
• Preparing and organizing cases for trial
• Other duties as assigned

Must Haves

• A minimum 2 years’ experience in litigation, preferably with some insurance and construction background
• Paralegal Certificate
• Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Supremely organized with a high attention to detail
• Strong analytical and writing skills
• Good computer knowledge with common litigation related programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Relativity
• Good knowledge of British Columbia civil litigation practices and procedures
