Your role

This position will be responsible for the overall management and performance of IT systems within the BC region. The successful candidate will lead the regional information technology strategy in terms of resource planning, management of deliverables and implementation of strategies to support the Firm’s strategic objectives. The incumbent will lead a high-performing technology team delivering outstanding customer service and will manage large-scale projects for the BC Region and Calgary Office, playing a key role in change management.

A Day In The Life

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish the regional technology development strategy and ensure its implementation
  • Foster, develop and motivate the IT Help Desk team
  • Negotiate contracts and manage communications between external vendors and internal resources to achieve the company’s technological objectives
  • Develop and oversee the department’s annual regional budget, analyze financial reports and statistics on team profitability and group occupancy rate
  • Study, recommend, promote, and implement new technologies and provide customer and technical support related to these new technologies
  • Develop and maintain a healthy work environment and encourage collaboration among team members
  • Plan local IT resources to meet business technology needs
  • Execute technology projects by taking into consideration timelines, costs, quality, operational integration, internal and external customer service and change management
  • Manage external and multidisciplinary work teams on business solution implementation, upgrade, and conversion projects
  • Present creative and innovative solutions adapted to the needs and obligations of the Firm

Must Haves

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology or management, including 5 years in a similar strategic team management position
  • University degree in information technology
  • Work experience in a law firm, accounting firm or professional services organization, a strong asset
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft 365
  • Networking knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in managing and supervising a high-performing technology team.
  • Experience in delivering outstanding customer service
  • Ability to mentor, train and manage a team of seasoned technical professionals to create a harmonious work environment.
  • Ability to suggest and support change management initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
